Gold and Silver Surge Over 60% Since the Start of the Year, Can Bitcoin Catch Up?

Gold, a traditional store of value, has surpassed a market cap of $30 trillion for the first time this week, significantly outpacing Bitcoin (BTC) and major tech companies. Gold is currently trading at $4,251.8 per ounce, representing an approximate 63% increase since the start of the year. In contrast, Bitcoin has only risen 14.5% over the same period. This year alone, gold has added $11 trillion in value, exceeding the market cap of the second-largest company, Nvidia, by $250 billion. The uncertainty in the global economy and diminishing trust in fiat currencies have driven up the demand for gold as a safe asset. Silver has also shown a significant increase, rising 73.7% since the beginning of the year.
