OpenSea, once a dominant force in the NFT marketplace, has transformed into a multi-chain cryptocurrency trading aggregator, as reported by The Block. This shift from a digital art-focused platform to a broad cryptocurrency asset platform represents an attempt to rebound after market collapses and significant layoffs. The new platform allows trading of all tokens, including NFTs, meme coins, and other cryptocurrencies, across 22 blockchains such as Solana and Ethereum. It aggregates liquidity from decentralized exchanges like Uniswap and Meteor, adopting a non-custodial model that charges a 0.9% transaction fee.
