Franklin Templeton Launches Hong Kong's First Tokenized Money Market Fund

Launch of Hong Kong's First Tokenized MMF

Global asset management firm Franklin Templeton announced on the 5th that it has launched a tokenized US dollar-denominated money market fund for institutional and professional investors in Hong Kong. The Luxembourg-registered Franklin Onchain US Government Money Fund issues blockchain-based tokens representing investor shares, digitally recording ownership. This initiative is the first under the Hong Kong Monetary Authority's Fintech 2030 plan.

The fund aims to generate returns through investments in high-quality short-term US Treasuries, while maintaining capital preservation and liquidity at high levels...
