Taiwan's Central Bank to 'Study' Bitcoin as a National Reserve Asset

On December 12, Bitcoin technology company JAN3 announced that Kuo-chun Ko, a legislator from Taiwan's Kuomintang party, proposed in the Legislative Yuan to incorporate Bitcoin (BTC) as a national reserve asset. The company's CEO, Samson Mow, supports this proposal. Mr. Ko revealed on his social media that the Executive Yuan and the Central Bank have agreed to study the strategic reserve asset status of Bitcoin, develop related regulations within six months, and test the use of confiscated Bitcoin for treasury holdings. Currently, the initiative is still in the research phase, and practical policy implementation appears to be some distance away.
