Major Asset Managers Consider Launching Cryptocurrency Investment Trusts in Japan

Exploring Cryptocurrency Investment Trusts

It has been revealed that six major asset management firms are considering the development of cryptocurrency investment trusts in Japan, according to a report by Nikkei Newspaper based on its exclusive survey on the 18th. Legislative amendments related to investment trusts will be necessary, but the Financial Services Agency is considering allowing the inclusion of cryptocurrencies, prompting Nikkei Newspaper to conduct interviews. The approval of a Bitcoin (BTC) spot ETF in the United States has also fueled expectations for the emergence of cryptocurrency investment trusts in Japan. According to the survey, firms such as Nomura Asset Management, SBI Global Asset Management, and Daiwa are among those exploring these opportunities.
