U.S. SEC Enforcement Actions Including Cryptocurrencies Drop by 30% Under Chair Atkins

On the 19th, Cornerstone Research and the Pollack Business Law Center at New York University released a report on enforcement activities by the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) for the fiscal year 2025, targeting listed companies and their subsidiaries.

According to the report, the number of enforcement actions initiated by the SEC in fiscal year 2025 was 56, a 30% decrease from the 80 cases in fiscal year 2024. This reduction aligns with the historical trend of decreased enforcement activity following a change in SEC chairmanship.
