Prediction Markets Experience Rapid Growth, Kalshi Reportedly Raises 150 Billion Yen

Regulated by the U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), the prediction market platform Kalshi has reportedly raised $1 billion (approximately 150 billion yen) at a valuation of $11 billion, according to TechCrunch.

Just two months ago, the company raised $300 million at a valuation of $5 billion, more than doubling its valuation in a short period. The funding round was led by existing investors Sequoia and CapitalG, with major tech and cryptocurrency industry players such as Andreessen Horowitz and Paradigm also participating. Kalshi has refrained from commenting on the matter.
