Prediction Market Polymarket Re-enters the US Market with CFTC Approval

US Return After Three Years

On the 25th, Polymarket, a prediction market platform, announced its official re-entry into the US market after receiving approval for a modified designated order from the US Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC). As a US exchange subject to federal regulation, the company can now operate an intermediary-based trading platform. Having been fined $1.4 million (approximately 220 million yen) in 2022 for operating as an unregistered derivatives exchange, the approval allows it to return to the US market under a fully regulated exchange framework.
