Infinite Mint Attack on yETH

On December 1, the decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol Yearn Finance disclosed that its liquid staking token aggregation product 'yETH' had been attacked.

The attacker exploited a vulnerability in the smart contract to mint an unlimited number of yETH tokens, thereby draining real assets from the pool in a single transaction.

According to blockchain data, the attacker transferred about 1,000 ETH (approximately $3 million, or about 450 million yen) to the cryptocurrency mixing service 'Tornado Cash'. Multiple smart contracts were used in the attack...
