U.S. FDIC to Publish 'Genius Act' Stablecoin Regulation Draft Rules by Late December

Acting Chair Travis Hill of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation (FDIC) disclosed in his testimony to the House Financial Services Committee on December 2nd that the draft rules for the regulatory framework of the 'Genius Act' concerning stablecoins are scheduled to be published by late December.

Furthermore, he continued that by early 2026, the FDIC plans to publish draft rules to implement the requirements of the Genius Act for stablecoin issuers under FDIC supervision. He also explained measures addressing asset tokenization and the de-banking of the cryptocurrency industry.
