Introduction of 'Innovation Waiver'

In a CNBC interview on the 2nd, Paul Atkins, Chairman of the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC), revealed that he is considering the introduction of an 'Innovation Waiver' specifically for the cryptocurrency sector. He stated that the SEC has the authority to foster innovation without the need for new legislation.

'The United States can now embrace areas of innovation it has long resisted,' said Mr. Atkins. He positioned the cryptocurrency industry as an innovative sector that the U.S. has failed to support adequately, aiming for regulatory reforms to facilitate capital raising. He particularly emphasized improving the environment for initial public offerings (IPOs) and fundraising for small and medium-sized enterprises.
