U.S. CFTC Adopts Flexible Approach to Data Regulation for Four Firms Including Polymarket

The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) issued no-action letters on the 12th to four prediction market platforms: Polymarket, Gemini, PredictIt, and LedgerX/MIAX.

As a result, these companies will not be subject to CFTC enforcement actions even if they do not meet certain record-keeping requirements. However, they must still meet other requirements, such as always fully collateralizing contracts and clearing transactions only through designated platforms.

In its statement, the CFTC noted that the no-action letters are 'applicable only in narrow circumstances and do not extend to other designated contract markets or similar situations.'
