MetaMask Adds Bitcoin Support, Enabling Purchases and Transfers with Fiat Currency

Initiating Bitcoin Support

MetaMask, one of the largest Ethereum (ETH) wallets, announced on December 16 that it has added native support for Bitcoin (BTC). The company had already announced its Bitcoin support on December 1. Users can now directly purchase Bitcoin using fiat currency. It is also possible to perform transfers on the Bitcoin network and exchange with Ethereum-based assets and Solana, among others. Upon updating to the latest version of MetaMask, a Bitcoin address will be automatically generated within the multi-chain account. Currently, it supports SegWit-derived paths, with Taproot support expected to be added soon...
