A Strong Candidate for Rate Cuts

According to The Wall Street Journal (WSJ), President Donald Trump plans to interview Christopher Waller, a member of the Federal Reserve Board, as a candidate for the next Fed Chair on the 18th (U.S. time, Wednesday the 17th). Waller, appointed to the Fed by Trump in 2020, has shown a proactive stance towards stablecoins and decentralized finance (DeFi). In the October 2025 Fed Payment Innovations Conference, Waller expressed a desire to usher in a new era in the Fed's payment sector, stating, 'The DeFi industry should not be viewed with skepticism or disdain.'
