MoMA Adds CryptoPunks and Other NFTs to Its Permanent Collection

NFTs Officially Recognized by Art Museum

The Museum of Modern Art (MoMA) announced on December 20th that it has added eight CryptoPunks and eight Chromie Squiggles NFTs to its permanent collection.

This addition was not a purchase but was made possible through donations from project founders and renowned collectors.

CryptoPunks, created by Larva Labs in 2017, is a collection of 10,000 pixel art NFTs that pioneered the NFT market. Each 24x24 pixel avatar image is hosted on the Ethereum blockchain...
