The Logic Behind Inflation-Adjusted Calculations

Alex Thorn, the head of research at the digital asset management firm Galaxy Digital, has posted an intriguing analysis on X Post.

According to Thorn, when recalculating the Bitcoin price using the 'US dollar purchasing power' at the time of the massive monetary easing post-COVID shock in 2020, Bitcoin has never actually surpassed the significant $100,000 mark in real terms.

After adjusting for inflation, the peak Bitcoin price equates to only $99,848 in 2020 purchasing power terms, thus never truly reaching the $100,000 threshold.
