For years, the cryptocurrency industry has been eyeing quantum computers as a new threat.

Quantum computers operate thousands of times faster than traditional computers and, in theory, could break the SHA256 encryption algorithm that underpins Bitcoin's security.

SHA256 is a cryptographic hash function used for transaction verification and mining in Bitcoin. If compromised, it could potentially collapse the entire network's trustworthiness.

However, early Bitcoin investor Charlie Shrem stated at the MoneyShow in early December that 'quantum computers and cryptocurrencies are complementary technologies,' suggesting that quantum advancements could evolve...
