Tim Scott, the chairman of the Senate Banking Committee, has also indicated plans to hold discussions on the same day, marking the next week as crucial for U.S. cryptocurrency policy. The draft bill aims to clarify the jurisdiction between the CFTC and SEC, though the versions differ between the House and Senate. The Senate Banking Committee's version introduces a new term, 'auxiliary assets,' to clearly define cryptocurrencies that are not considered securities. The version from the Senate Agriculture Committee grants new powers to the CFTC, but as of November last year, it still contained many significant issues noted in parentheses.
