BlackRock Purchases Approximately 130 Billion Yen Worth of Bitcoin in Three Days

In the first week of January 2026, BlackRock, a leading global asset management company, executed a significant cryptocurrency purchase. According to analysis from the on-chain analytics platform Lookonchain, the firm bought 9,619 BTC (approximately $878 million, or about 130 billion yen) over three consecutive days. Their current holdings amount to approximately 780,000 BTC. During the same period, BlackRock also acquired 46,851 ETH (approximately $149 million, or about 22 billion yen), bringing the total amount spent on Bitcoin and Ethereum to over $1 billion.
