Ukraine Blocks Access to Prediction Markets

The National Commission for the State Regulation of Electronic Communications of Ukraine ordered the blocking of access to the cryptocurrency-based prediction market platform 'Polymarket' at the end of last year. The site, which offers gambling activities without a domestic license, was mandated to have its connectivity restricted by internet service providers.

Polymarket's domain has been added to Ukraine's public registry of blocked sites, and access for domestic users has already been cut off. Ukrainian authorities have cited the facilitation of bets on geopolitical outcomes related to Russia's invasion as the primary reason for the regulation.
