On January 14th, Ripple, a blockchain payment company, announced that it had received preliminary approval for an Electronic Money Institution (EMI) license from Luxembourg's Financial Supervisory Authority (CSSF). The CSSF issued a 'green light letter' as a token of approval, confirming that Ripple has met all initial regulatory requirements.
