On the 17th, Matthew Siegel, VanEck's Head of Digital Asset Research, countered a New York Times (NYT) article on social media, which he claimed misquoted CEO Jan van Eck's statements about Strategy Corp, taking them out of context. Siegel clarified that the statement 'We have kept our distance' was meant to indicate that VanEck does not adopt a Bitcoin (BTC) financial strategy similar to that of Strategy Corp, and not a negative view towards the company's stock. In fact, VanEck holds 284,000 shares of Strategy, positioning them among the top 75 shareholders, and has made additional purchases in recent weeks.
