Tariff Announcement and Market Response

On January 17th, President Trump announced a 10% tariff starting February 1st on eight countries including Denmark, Norway, Sweden, France, Germany, the UK, the Netherlands, and Finland, with an increase to 25% by June 1st unless an agreement on acquiring Greenland is reached.

Following this announcement, Bitcoin (BTC) fell by 3% to around $92,000. Within 24 hours, $875 million in cryptocurrency positions were liquidated.

This drop is consistent with past patterns. For instance, when a 100% tariff on Chinese goods was announced in October 2025, $190 billion in leveraged positions...
