Lawsuit Over Bank Account Closures

On the 23rd, former President Donald Trump filed a lawsuit against JPMorgan Chase and its CEO Jamie Dimon, alleging that the closure of his and his affiliated businesses' bank accounts in early 2021 was politically motivated, as reported by CNBC among others. He is seeking at least $5 billion in damages. The account closures occurred in January 2021, following the assault on the Capitol on January 6 and Trump's departure from office after losing the election to former President Joe Biden.
