Coinbase Establishes Expert Panel to Address Quantum Threats

On the 22nd, leading U.S. cryptocurrency exchange Coinbase announced the establishment of an independent advisory committee to assess the potential risks quantum computers pose to blockchain networks such as Bitcoin (BTC) and Ethereum (ETH).

The committee includes notable members such as Professor Scott Aaronson, Director of the Quantum Information Center at the University of Texas; Professor Dan Boneh, a cryptographer from Stanford University; Justin Drake, a researcher from the Ethereum Foundation; Professor Sriram Kannan, founder of EigenLayer; and Professor Yehuda Lindell, Chief Cryptographer at Coinbase.
