Circle CEO Predicts 'Billions of AI Agents Will Use Stablecoins Within 5 Years'

Jeremy Allaire, CEO of major stablecoin issuer Circle, predicted at the World Economic Forum Annual Meeting in Davos, Switzerland, on January 23, that 'literally billions' of AI agents will require payment systems within the next five years, making stablecoins the only viable option. Allaire emphasized that automated payment systems are essential for AI agents to operate autonomously on the internet, stating that 'there is no alternative to stablecoins.' Since AI systems cannot have bank accounts or credit cards like humans, stablecoins provide a necessary solution for their operational needs.
