The U.S. Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC) on December 4th withdrew its 2024 proposal to ban contracts related to political events in decentralized prediction markets. Additionally, it has retracted its 2025 staff advisory that issued warnings about sports-related contracts. The proposal announced under the Biden administration in 2024 aimed to prohibit contracts related to politics and other sensitive themes.
