Polymarket Files for 'POLY' Trademark in the US, Preparing for Token Issuance?

According to records from the United States Patent and Trademark Office, Blockratize, the operator of leading prediction market 'Polymarket', filed for the 'POLY' and '$POLY' trademarks in the US on the 4th. Both applications were posted on the website early morning on the 5th, US time, and are currently in an 'active' and 'under review' status.

The trademark applications span multiple classes, including downloadable software for financial and cryptocurrency transactions, digital tokens and cryptocurrency services, and Platform as a Service (PaaS) for electronic trading and settlement.
