Nomura's Laser Digital to Apply for Cryptocurrency Exchange Business Within the Year

It has been revealed through a report by the Nikkei that Laser Digital HD, a subsidiary of Nomura Holdings that handles cryptocurrency trading, will apply for registration as a cryptocurrency exchange operator with Japan's Financial Services Agency by 2026. Daiwa Securities Group and SMBC Nikko Securities are also considering entry, with major securities firms speeding up their preparations for expanding into the cryptocurrency business.
