Ethereum Foundation Announces 2026 Development Strategy to Enhance Processing Power, Usability, and Security

On the 18th, the Ethereum (ETH) Foundation's protocol development team announced their priority development objectives for 2026 via their official blog. Building on the success of two major upgrades completed in 2025, the foundation has restructured its development framework into three teams this year, aiming to simultaneously advance processing capacity, usability, and network security. 2025 was a fulfilling year for Ethereum. The 'Pectra' upgrade in May enabled ordinary wallets to temporarily utilize smart contract functionalities, achieving features such as batch processing of multiple transactions and fee fronting.
