China's Supreme Court to Strengthen Judicial Response to New Financial Cases Including Cryptocurrencies

Cryptocurrencies Designated as a Key Focus

On the 24th, the Supreme People's Court of China held a press conference on civil and commercial trial matters, announcing the establishment of civil compensation judicial interpretations for securities market insider trading and market manipulation by 2026, along with strengthening the response to new financial cases including cryptocurrencies. A senior official from the Supreme Court stated at the conference that the focus for 2026 would involve 'deeply studying judicial response measures for new financial cases such as private funds and cryptocurrencies, and completing the financial judicial protection system.' Additionally, the policy to enhance research and response to new financial cases involving supply chain finance, internet finance, and cryptocurrencies was also outlined.
