Former CFTC Chairman: 'Banks Need the Clarity Act Most', Concerns Over Delay in US Financial Digitalization

Who Suffers from the Lack of Clear Regulation?

Chris Giancarlo, former Chairman of the Commodity Futures Trading Commission (CFTC), stated in the podcast 'The Wolf Of All Streets' released on the 8th, that the traditional banking sector, rather than the cryptocurrency industry, is in dire need of the 'Clarity Act' which governs the structure of the cryptocurrency market.

The cryptocurrency industry has been under stringent scrutiny during the tenure of SEC Chairman Gary Gensler, facing regulatory challenges that have stifled innovation and growth. Giancarlo argues that the banking sector, which operates under a much stricter regulatory framework, would benefit significantly from the clarity that this legislation would provide, potentially preventing the US financial infrastructure from lagging behind its European and Asian counterparts.
