Sanctions Imposed on North Korean IT Workers

On the 12th, the U.S. Treasury announced that the Office of Foreign Assets Control (OFAC) has imposed sanctions on six individuals and two companies for their involvement in illicit activities by North Korean IT workers.

The Treasury stated that these activities are linked to the North Korean government. The sanctioned individuals were accused of securing employment in U.S. companies under false identities and funneling their earnings to North Korea's weapons of mass destruction programs.
