Warning Against Strait of Hormuz Transit Fee Scam

Greek maritime risk management company Mariskus has alerted that an unidentified third party, claiming to be Iranian authorities, has been sending fraudulent messages to certain shipping companies. These messages demand payment in Bitcoin (BTC) or Tether (USDT) in exchange for passage through the Strait of Hormuz. This was reported by Reuters on the 21st.
