Senate Bans Trading in Prediction Markets by Senators

On May 1, the U.S. Senate passed Resolution S.Res.708, unanimously banning senators and their office staff from trading in prediction markets, effective immediately, as announced by the Senate Press Gallery. The resolution, introduced last week by Senator Bernie Moreno, amends the standing rules that govern the conduct of the Senate. The resolution was prompted by concerns over potential insider trading involving prediction markets.
