On May 14, Ben Horowitz, co-founder of the US venture capital firm a16z (Andreessen Horowitz), met with Prime Minister Sanae Takachi at the official residence and announced the establishment of their first international base in Tokyo this summer. This marks the first time one of the world's largest VC firms, managing over $100 billion in assets, will set up an office outside the United States.
