Counterfeit of 1,000 BTC Substitute Tokens Without Collateral

The Echo Protocol, a platform for operating Bitcoin (BTC) within DeFi (Decentralized Finance), was hacked on the 19th. The attacker exploited a verification loophole in the 'bridge' responsible for inter-chain asset transfers, illicitly generating 1,000 units of the BTC substitute token 'eBTC', which normally requires collateral.
