The U.S. Department of Commerce announced on May 21 that it has signed a letter of intent to provide a total of $2.013 billion (approximately 320 billion yen) in federal grants to nine companies related to quantum computing, based on the 'CHIPS and Science Act'. The funding targets two quantum foundries and seven quantum computing companies, aiming to accelerate the resolution of technical challenges towards the commercialization of fault-tolerant quantum computers...
