Announcement and Background of the Regulatory Withdrawal

On November 11, Bloomberg reported that the Hungarian government announced the decriminalization of cryptocurrency trading. Government spokesperson Anita Kobor confirmed to the press that the government plans to fully withdraw the stringent regulatory framework introduced under former Prime Minister Orban's administration. Ms. Kobor noted that this regulation had led to a decrease in domestic trading volumes and triggered an EU compliance investigation.
