Expansion of Jurisdictions Subject to the Travel Rule

On the 7th, Japan's Financial Services Agency and Ministry of Finance amended and announced the notification that defines the jurisdictions subject to the 'Travel Rule' for cryptocurrency and electronic payment transfers. This rule mandates the disclosure of sender and recipient information at the time of transfer. Five new jurisdictions, including Anguilla, Oman, Cuba, the Dominican Republic, and Botswana, have been added, expanding the total to 63 jurisdictions. The amendment will be effective from August 3.
