Tokenization of MMF Beneficial Interests on a Public Blockchain

Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank announced on September 9 that it has commenced a pilot project to tokenize the beneficial interests of a Cayman Islands-based money market fund on a public blockchain. The tokenized beneficial interests will be treated as 'Electronic Recorded Transferable Securities,' commonly known as digital securities, under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act.
