Sumitomo Mitsui Trust Bank announced on September 9 that it has begun a pilot project to tokenize the beneficiary rights of a Cayman Islands-based money market fund on a public blockchain. The tokenized beneficiary rights will be treated as 'Electronic Recorded Transferable Securities', commonly known as digital securities, under the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act.
