This move is part of broader efforts to integrate cryptocurrencies into formal financial products, as outlined in the proposed amendments to the Financial Instruments and Exchange Act. The legislation, currently under review in the House of Councillors, aims for enactment and subsequent implementation by fiscal year 2027. Major financial institutions like SBI Securities and Rakuten Securities are already gearing up to offer cryptocurrency investment trusts, anticipating regulatory approval.
