Major credit card company JCB has reached an agreement to collaborate with a Circle affiliate, the issuer of the US dollar stablecoin USDC, as reported by the Nikkei on the 13th.

By the end of the year, JCB plans to start testing a stablecoin payment service using USDC at a store in Tokyo frequented by visitors to Japan, with considerations for expanding this service to other member stores. This initiative aims to enhance the convenience for visitors by eliminating the need for currency exchange and reducing transaction fees.
