Lower House Passes Regulation Law

The Russian State Duma approved a comprehensive regulatory law on the 21st that places cryptocurrency transactions under government supervision, as reported by the state news agency Tass.

The main provisions are expected to take effect on September 1, officially allowing retail investors to enter the cryptocurrency market for the first time.

The new law mandates cryptocurrency exchanges, custodians, and brokers to register under a special registration system. Existing exchanges can continue to operate unregistered until July 1, 2027...
