About the Progress of Bill Deliberations

The window for deliberations on the Clarity Act has further narrowed. On September 3, the Republican leadership in the U.S. House announced a reduction in the session days, including cancellation of sessions for the weeks of September 21 and 28. According to political journalist Jake Sherman, the House is expected to reconvene on the night of the 14th and return to their districts after about a week for midterm election activities.

The Senate resumed discussions on the 14th of this month and is scheduled to proceed to a formal vote on the 15th, requiring 60 votes to end the debate and move forward. The House...
