The UK government has chosen six financial institutions as joint lead managers for the pilot issuance of the country's first digital native bond, the 'Digital Gilt Instrument (DIGIT)'. Lucy Rigby, the Economic Secretary to the Treasury, announced this during her keynote speech at the 'UK Digital Assets Week' held in London on the 6th. The issuance is planned for the first quarter of 2027.
