[NEWS] DEA and others collaborate with KDDI and Geotechnologies to build a "participatory social contribution gaming platform"

Aiming to expand the functionality of participatory social contribution content

DEA (Digital Entertainment Asset Pte. Ltd), which develops the GameFi platform, announced on the 15th that it has signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with KDDI and Geotechnologies. Through this collaboration, DEA will expand the functionality of the participatory social contribution content that it is working on with TEPCO (Tokyo Electric Power Company Power Grid) and GGG (Greenway Grid Global Pte. Ltd).

On the 4th of this month, DEA, TEPCO, and GGG announced that they will launch a participatory social contribution game called "PicTree - My Electric Pole Battle" on April 13th, which uses power assets such as utility poles. At the same time, they revealed that they will conduct a limited-area demonstration test in Maebashi City, Gunma Prefecture at the same time as the launch.

This time, they will launch a "participatory social contribution game platform" as a collaborative project with KDDI and Geotechnologies, and will verify the scalability of the platform.

This platform is expected to include new content such as PicTree and other games that are being considered for release in the future, as well as infrastructure content. As users enjoy the content, various data will be collected and used to help resolve social issues faced by local governments and companies.

Shunpei Tatebayashi, head of the Web3 Promotion Department at KDDI's Business Creation Headquarters, said at a press conference, "We hope to contribute to society through infrastructure such as communications and the construction of an economic sphere through collaboration with points," in reference to the Web3.0 service "αU" announced by the company last year.

Shunsaku Toyoda, managing director of Geotechnologies, said, "Maps are also an infrastructure. By getting users to provide information through games, we can also contribute to society," and expressed his intention to utilize the map data-related business that the company handles through rapid and efficient information collection.

Furthermore, Kozo Yamada, CEO of DEA, said, "I hope that we can improve the infrastructure and environment around us while utilizing entertainment through collaboration with various companies. We would like to use today as an opportunity to expand this initiative globally," showing his enthusiasm to continue expanding the series of initiatives, including participatory social contribution games.

Collaboration between DEA and KDDI

DEA announced that it had raised funds from KDDI in August last year.

At the time, the two companies mentioned that they planned to collaborate extensively in the Web 3.0 field. In particular, they explained that they were considering joint efforts in social problem-solving games promoted by DEA.
