[NEWS] DeNA launches Web 3.0 quiz game "trivia.tech"

Uses the blockchain Base developed by Coinbase

On the 15th, DeNA started offering "trivia.tech", a multiplayer buzzer quiz game that utilizes blockchain.

Trivia.tech is a simultaneous multiplayer Web 3.0 quiz game that utilizes blockchain. Players answer 26 questions from A to Z by buzzing, and only the player who answers correctly the fastest among the players connected to the venue can mint an NFT with the letter of the alphabet on it.

The game is completely free to play. Players clear the game by collecting all 26 types of NFT. The quiz questions are about Web 3.0 concepts, projects, and people that correspond to the first letters of the alphabet, and players answer correctly from four options. If someone answers correctly and the mint is performed, or if the time limit is reached, all players will move on to the next quiz.

The service will be available for a limited time until the end of February. The service will also end if 100 players have cleared it before then.

The service will be in operation from January 15th to February 29th at 11:59pm. The blockchain uses Base (Mainnet), a Layer 2 blockchain of Ethereum.

Base was developed by Coinbase, a major cryptocurrency exchange in the United States, and its mainnet was released in August last year. Base aims to attract 1 million developers and 1 billion users to the cryptocurrency market, and over 100 dApps have already been created.

Trivia.tech is deployed as a mobile web app (PWA), and users can log in by connecting to wallets such as Metamask and Coinbase Wallet.

Services with an eye toward global expansion will also be developed.

DeNA explained in its announcement that although the service's operation period itself is short, smart contracts are autonomously responsible for operation, so players can play quizzes fairly based on a common logic published on the blockchain.

In the future, they will develop games that utilize NFTs minted on "trivia.tech" and services that meet user needs. In addition, in order to promote the spread of Web 3.0, the company will develop services with an eye toward global expansion while coexisting and prospering with business partners.
