Gaudiy, which develops the Web 3.0 fan platform "Gaudiy Fanlink," announced on the 19th that it will collaborate with Sanrio to release a social networking service using generative AI simultaneously worldwide in spring 2024.
The company will provide a new next-generation social networking service that combines Sanrio's many character IPs, Gaudi's blockchain technologies such as NFT and SBT, and generative AI technology.
The platform will implement a Web 3.0 wallet that utilizes the concept of Account Abstraction (AA). It will provide a service experience that is easy to use even for Web 3.0 beginners.
Account Abstraction is an improvement proposal for Ethereum (ETH) that aims to replace user accounts with smart contract accounts. Use cases such as application developers bearing transaction costs, introducing account recovery methods other than private keys, and conducting transactions through two-step authentication will become possible.
The service that Gaudi and Sanrio plan to provide is currently in the closed testing phase, and they are verifying the service using "Arbitrum One," an Ethereum Layer 2 solution that reduces gas fees, and generative AI "GPT-4."
At the same time, they explained that they are collaborating with domestic and international universities and research institutes, such as the Chiba Institute of Technology's Innovation Center, to promote joint research on generative AI with the aim of creating innovation.
Gaudiy is a Web 3.0 startup whose mission is "Advancing the times with fans." Using advanced blockchain and generative AI technologies, they aim to create a "fan nation," an economic sphere where fans can connect with their "likes" and "passions" across borders.
Sanrio participated in Gaudiy's series of fundraising (900 million yen) along with Sony Music Entertainment, Mitsubishi UFJ Innovation Partners, Mizuho Capital, and others and invested in the company.
In August of this year, Gaudiy and Sanrio announced that they would collaborate in the Web 3.0 field. They announced that they would launch a character community service globally.
Gaudi, led by Ishikawa Yuya, known as the technical advisor for the Gundam Metaverse, provides Web 3.0 fan platforms such as "Everybody's Neverland" and "TOKYO IDOL FESTIVAL TIF Community," but will utilize generative AI technology in the future.
Founded in 1960, Sanrio engages in retail, entertainment, and licensing businesses, focusing on over 450 character IPs, including "Hello Kitty." In the future, there is a possibility that a social networking service will be created that allows users to interact with popular characters such as "Cinnamoroll" and "Pom Pom Purin."
