LINE NEXT, which operates a global NFT platform business under the LINE umbrella, announced on the 10th that it signed a memorandum of understanding with Sega, a major Japanese game company, on the 4th of this month regarding game development.
As a result, LINE NEXT is now able to develop games using Sega's game IP licenses on its in-house Web 3.0 game platform "GAME DOSI".
In the future, LINE NEXT will release new titles using popular Sega content on GAME DOSI, and will promote the widespread use of Web 3.0 games through support such as NFT production, simple payment, and marketing.
Details of the titles to be developed will be announced as soon as they are decided.
In a statement, LINE NEXT CEO Ko Young-soo said, "We are pleased to be able to provide gamers around the world with an exciting experience together with Sega through this collaboration," and expressed his enthusiasm for providing Web 3.0 content that can be enjoyed easily by anyone, not just Sega fans, through GAME DOSI.
GAME DOSI is an all-in-one Web 3.0 gaming platform developed by LINE NEXT, which launched its service in May of this year.
In the same month, LINE NEXT released five new titles, including "Project GD," a game that is being released as an in-house project of LINE NEXT.
Also, on the 6th of this month, GAME DOSI's first title, "Frame Arms Girl: Dream Stadium," was released.
GAME DOSI's strength is that it can provide an all-in-one platform for everything from game development to operation and marketing, thereby solving the problems that existing blockchain game development companies have.
SEGA, which signed the memorandum of understanding this time, will develop its business centered on planning, development, sales, and operation of games for home game consoles, PCs, and smartphones, as well as planning, development, and sales of arcade machines.
In addition, utilizing the know-how it has cultivated in the game business, it is involved in the planning, development, and sales of character products, including digital services and prizes.
It is also known for its global business development, with bases not only in Japan but also around the world.
